Making it easy to track the most important health care lawsuits facing the U.S. courts today.

Backgorund
Tracking health care litigation online has never been easy. The U.S. court system has lagged behind the digital revolution, making it challenging to find and follow timely information about the most important health care lawsuits facing the courts today. Georgetown University’s O’Neill Institute and its Health Policy and the Law Initiatives focuses on the important role that litigation and the courts play in health policy. Initiative Directors Zach Baron, Katie Keith and Andrew Twinamatsiko wanted to make the process of navigating and understanding health care litigation easy.

What We Did

We worked in partnership with them to create a centralized database of healthcare litigation related to affordability and cost containment, giving users the ability to:

  • Access timely information about health law litigation
  • Understand what court cases are next on the horizon litigation calendar
  • Gain insight and analysis into high-profile cases
  • Evaluate trend data; and
  • Generate research

Results

Since its launch in early 2023, the tracker has been cited in The New York Times and Congressional testimony.

The site ranks in the top 3 Google search results for "healthcare litigation" and #1 for "litigation tracker".

This platform is now the only user-friendly, publicly available website dedicated to tracking litigation over affordability and cost containment policies.
